Implant Dental Care

We wholeheartedly embrace the latest methods and materials to ensure the best dental implant results for our patients. What's more, we firmly believe in transparent communication and make it a priority to explain procedures in plain English.

What are dental implants?

Dental implants replace a tooth’s root with a titanium screw-like post, allowing loose, lost or damaged teeth to be replaced with new teeth that securely attach to the post.

It provides a strong and more aesthetic alternative, giving patients the confidence to smile from ear to ear.

What is the dental implant process?

Understanding that each patient and each dental implant is unique, our team take great care to thoroughly discuss every aspect of your treatment before beginning any dental implant procedure. We maintain regular communication throughout the entire implant journey, ensuring you feel supported every step of the way.

The process of fitting a dental implant would involve a three or four stages:

  • An initial assessment
  • In some cases a bone graft may be required to increase the amount of bone in the jaw to support the implant. This is not always necessary.
  • Putting in the implant.
  • Fitting your crown, bridges or denture (restorative treatment).
How do implants work?

Dental implants can often be used to replace missing teeth and support dentures or bridges.

A small titanium fixture (the ‘implant’) takes the place of the original root of the tooth. It is gently implanted under local anaesthetic in a short surgical procedure. The bone of the jaw then grows closely around the titanium implant locking it in position solidly. A crown or bridge can be placed upon the implant to restore missing teeth.

Dental implants can have a huge impact on your quality of life. Many patients can now eat their favourite foods again and no longer feel they need to hide their smile.

Dental implants can also be used to support dentures. This can be life changing for people struggling with loose dentures. They allow people to have confidence, stability and comfort when chewing and speaking.
