At Campbell & Gibson we want the fees we charge you as a patient to represent good value and also to reflect a fair price for our clinical standards and experience. We are committed to pricing fairly. This information describes what we do to ensure that this happens.
We make you aware of the fees associated with your visits
We want you to be fully aware of any treatment planned with us, the reason why we are proposing it, and the fees associated. We also want you to be aware of when fees will be due (which in most cases is when a service has been completed with our team).
To achieve this, we: .
- Discuss with you the treatment that we think is required to achieve your treatment goals and oral health, and the reasons why.
- Display a fee guide on our web site and at the practice reception
- Provide you with a treatment plan including the estimated costs before treatment starts, and provide updates to this plan if it is to change for any reason throughout your treatment.
We offer aim to reduce the cost of your dental treatment
We aim through regular examination and preventative advice and care to minimise the treatment you will need. By offering practical advice on how to best care for your mouth we aim to keep it healthy and treatment free.
We offer dental plans which improve value for patients in a number of ways, including spreading the cost of preventative maintenance care, an exclusive member’s fee list for treatment items, and worldwide dental emergency insurance. Our team will gladly provide more information regarding our plans on request.
We can help facilitate finance on treatment plans over £1000. Terms and conditions apply.
We regularly reviews our fees
We review our fees every year and based on our current costs and the current market conditions, we will decide on changes needed to our fees. Any new prices are published on our website.
If the payment plan fees have risen, this will also be communicated directly to our plan members, as well as published on our website.
If we raise our fees and you have a treatment plan that is less than 90 days old, the prices on it will be valid for 3 months from the date of the rise. Treatment plans that are older than 90 days will be subject to the new fees if the treatment has not already started.
Why fee increases are a necessity
Prices in dentistry, as with any kind of service provision are governed by costs and market forces. Our costs range from paying our team members and lab partners, to cleaning, to insurance, to energy and equipment and everything else in between.
We want our patients to have great confidence in our clinical standards and an excellent patient experience. Also as employers, we want our team to be paid fairly for their skills and provide a pleasant working environment where the team can provide their very best for our patients.
Although our costs could be reduced by using cheaper team members, cheaper materials, and inferior laboratories for our lab work, we firmly believe that this would unacceptably compromise the quality of everything we do for our patients. Ultimately we believe such an approach will cost patients far more in the longer term as treatment fails to deliver, and the whole experience is stressful and unpleasant. We try where possible to keep our costs as competitive as possible (for example we are part of a collaborative buying group with our dental material suppliers) and pass any savings on to our patients in our fees.
What exactly does Fair Pricing mean?
Our services are provided on the principle of providing high quality clinical care in an environment that creates a pleasant experience for those using these. We want to have a team full of talented ethical individuals, and partner with laboratories that share our values.
We do this so that our patients are provided with minimal complications and high quality care provided in comfortable surroundings.
Our prices are set as to allow us to deliver on the above principles, and in doing so we feel provide you the patient with value in what you are paying for. This is what we mean by ‘fair pricing’.
Why have you given me an ‘estimate’?
When we make a treatment plan with you, we aim to include all the costs we expect to be involved in delivering it. However planning exactly what treatment will be needed to achieve your goals can be very difficult to predict until we have physically started the treatment. Depending on the circumstances found when treating you, costs required might be more or less than has been suggested on the estimate.
As an example, if we discover a failing crown in your mouth it is impossible to know exactly what condition the tooth under this crown is in, until the crown is removed and it is fully assessed. It might need more complex treatment than was initially planned on inspection. For this reason we provide you with an estimate instead of a defined fixed price.
What does ‘fees from’ mean?
‘Fees from’ relates to treatments that vary in how much clinical time and materials are required to achieve the required result. For example fillings can vary enormously, from being a very small easy to reach filling at the front of the mouth, to a complete rebuild of a large awkwardly placed molar tooth. The fee we apply for these two types of filling will differ due to these factors, hence why our guide says ‘fees from’ in regards to such treatment types.
Why our prices may differ to another practice.
We regularly check our prices are competitive with other dental practices, and although there will be some variation between practices it is unlikely there will be great variation.
If you are comparing prices, try to ensure that you are comparing like-for-like. Some fees listed may only include part of the overall treatment (for example an implant fee that does not include the crown which will be required to go on top of the implant). Ensure you get an estimate for the full treatment from start to finish before you compare the costs.
As said above we want to provide you with a high quality of both clinical care and patient experience at Campbell & Gibson. This means quality form our team members and continuity of care, environment to quality equipment where we deliver care, and quality materials and lab partners.
We want our service to go the extra mile and give you peace of mind that whatever your goals and needs are, they will be met by a kind ethical experienced team striving to give you the best. Ultimately it is our team and ethos that makes the difference between us and other dental practices, and this may be reflected in the fees we charge compared to others.
I hope that this fair pricing leaflet has answered any questions you may have. If you have any queries then please do not hesitate to contact our team.
With our best wishes
The team at Campbell & Gibson Dental and Implant Practice
